What is Scouting
Scouting is a year-Round Family and Home Centered program that encourages the ethical decision-making skils for 1st grade though 5th grade. As Tiger Scouts (1st grade) the program emphasses shared leadership, learning about the community, and family understanding. As Wolfs and Bears (2nd and 3rd graders) activities emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. As Webelos Scouts (4th and 5th grade), scouts participate in more advanced activities that begin to prepare them to become Boy Scouts.
The Cub Scout Den
*Your Son is a member of a Cub Scout Den
*A den meets several times a month between pack meetings
*A Den consists of 6 to eight boys who are ussually all at the same grade level
*The Den is lead by the Den Leader
*The den structure allows boys to build relationships with leaders and other boys
*The den provides opportunities for activities that would be difficult with a large group
*The den also provides leadership opportunities for the boys
The Cub Scout Pack
*Your Son is a member of a Cub Scout Pack
*A Pack meets once per month; all Cub Scouts Familes attend
*The Pack meeting is led by the Cubmaster
*The Pack meeting is the highest of the months' den meeting and activities
*Pack meetings have games, songs, skits, stunts, ceremonies, and presentations of badges that
boys have earned during the month.
The Pack Committee
*The Pack is run by a committee of volunteer parents
*The Pack committee is made up of den leaders, the Cubmaster, and Parents
*The Pack committee is led by a chairperson
*The committee plans Den and Pack meetings around the monthly theme
*The committee selects leaders, performs record keeping, manage finance, finds meeting places,
orders badges, maintains Pack equipment, help train leaders, and recognizes leaders
